CAR STRIKES A TREE RESULTING IN A FATALITY IN CANYON COUNTY

Monday November 11th, in Caldwell, Idaho, a single vehicle crash occurred on Homedale Road at approximately 4:13 p.m.

The driver, a 43-year-old woman residing in Caldwell, was traveling westbound in her 2006 Honda Accord. As she traveled down Homedale Road, she reached the intersection of Compass Way, when she began to drift off the road. She slid off the right shoulder and was unable to avoid a tree.

The resulting crash left the woman badly wounded, and she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Reportedly, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

We are sorry to hear about this accident, and we send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the woman who passed.

Unfortunately, according to the Idaho Transportation Department’s crash report, 7,750 single vehicle crashes occurred in 2023, and 91 of those resulted in fatalities. The Idaho Department of Transportation says, “While crashes involving a single vehicle occur less frequently than crashes involving multiple vehicles, the resulting injuries are often more severe.”
