Energy Lawyers
The ongoing shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources has left its mark on Idaho. Wind farms dot the southern Idaho landscape, while solar farms are beginning to gain traction. Not to mention hydropower, which continues to supply the substantial share of Idaho’s energy needs.
Energy law is unique, and Racine Olson is one of only a few Idaho firms with substantial experience in the field. Energy is regulated by both federal and state agencies, with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission setting rates and tariffs for electric and other utilities in Idaho. We have decades of experience advocating before the Commission, including on behalf of Idaho’s largest electricity consumer. We have also assisted with the development of private hydroelectric projects and have represented landowners in negotiating wind and geothermal leases.
